Pt. 5: Domi's Morning Routine! 🌸
Today I'll be zooming in on one of the most crucial times in my day: the morning.
If you would ask me what is the most stable factor in my life and what keeps me same? The answer is: my morning routine.

That doesn't mean I have a fixed in cement type of routine where there's a tight itinerary and if I can't finish all the tasks in time I'll have a bad day.
Noooo, it's quite the opposite.
My morning routine has been part of my mornings for a while now and it's pretty flexible. It's adaptable to every situation I'm in, both physically and mentally.
Why I take my mornings so seriously?
I'm a very "in my head" and "projecting on the future" kind of person. Which means my mind is busy A LOT of the time. But like, a lot.
But the mornings always feel like a natural reset. A clean slate. And only by taking the time for myself in the morning, I can start fresh and motivated and with a (relatively) clear mind.
Lucky for me, I'm a morning person by default and since I slowly started implementing Ayurveda in my life a couple of years ago, I realised that the Ayurvedic lifestyle aligns with my natural way of living so much, I didn't even have to try very hard.
A couple of Ayurvedic things I added to my morning routine:
Waking up early at/around the same time every day. ⏰ Which means my alarm goes of at 6 every day. Does that mean I wake up at 6 every day? No. It could be a bit earlier or a bit later, but I can't seem to stay in bed past 07:30 anymore. That's my once in a blue moon sleeping in time.
Brushing my teeth straight after waking up, scraping my tongue and drinking a glass of warm water right after that. 🪥 That glass of water is usually mixed with something season-specific to support my body. In winter I add a bit of ghee to it to support my digestive system, a sprinkle of turmeric to support my immune system and a drop of lemon essential oil to support the level of vitamine C in my body.
Move before eating breakfast. 🏃♀️ I usually take a walk, go for a run or do a short yoga practice in the morning to wake my body up and ease into the day.
Eat a warm breakfast and drink CCF tea. ☕️ Warm food supports the digestive systems in ways I could never imagine. And it's so yummy too. The CCF tea also supports the digestive system and helps drifting off toxins.
Take a nice warm shower! 💦
And there's so much wiggle room in between these things.
I always make sure to have a backup plan in case I'm travelling or on the move (which happens quite a bit). I'll bring a little container of tea and sometimes I'll make sure to stay somewhere with a kitchen. Sometimes I even bring oats with some spices mixed in and an apple.
The cheapest and easiest breakfast on the go, Ayurvedic style, is half a cup of spiced up oats (cinnamon or 5-spice mix) with water and a stewed apple. That's it. Delicious and filling.
Anyways. I documented some of the main things from my morning routine in this new video!
Enjoy and tell me about your morning routine!
