Pt. 13 Moving into Bubbles 🫧

Another year another home.

That's how I roll.

But this home will probably be my home for at least a whole year 🙀. (Which technically still means I can start a blog next with with the exact same opening line but still, it's a big deal for me).

After having lived in a spare room in a house of a family (a dad and his teenage daughter) for 5 months, it was time to spread my wings again and find a new and slightly more permanent place to live.

When I first moved into this suburb just south of Byron Bay in August, I was impressed by the nature everywhere. It's a green haven with lush jungle-type rain forests all around.

On one of my many walks around the neighbourhood towards the beach (which is the actual best thing about this place) in September right after moved in the shared house, I saw this old-ish house with a red fence around it will all these dolphins painted and drawn on it. The house looked very cozy with outdoor areas and balconies and it all looked a little bit messy but a good kind of messy.

I googled the name of the place on the fence and ended up finding an old ad where they advertised a room in there but it had expired. I was glad to learn it was a shared housing situation, though, and put a note in my phone just in case I a space opened up in there.

Nearly 5 months later, when I was actively looking for a new place and stumbled upon an ad about a little shack on the property of a community and it seemed perfect. I messaged the owner and she told me the space was already rented out but one of the residents who was living in a caravan on the property was about to leave in January and if I was interested in renting out that space.

Obviously, I was.

And funny enough, this was the same place I put in my notes back in September.

I went and had a look the next day and I fell in love with Bubbles, the caravan, and the little annex space with a desk, an outdoor Bali-like bed, and LOTS of privacy. The minimum stay would be a year and after considering for a little while, I decided to just do it.

I found a new place to live.

Scary as it may have seemed, I was ready to move into a space a bit more long-term to let things settle and grow those roots I've been talking about.

Thanks, universe! 🙏

In this month's video I decided to show you 2 things:

  • How much stuff I accidentally accumulated again and how I had to drive TWICE with a small car to move everything from my shared house into Bubbles.

  • The distance from my new house to the beach.

Enjoy! ☀️
