Pt. 2: Life in a caravan 🚐
The tiny joys saga continues.
Today I’ll give you a glimpse into caravan living, which is my current living situation.
Moving from one place to another has been part of my life since I was 17. The gaps between moving gradually got smaller and smaller in my twenties and reached its peak last year, when I stayed in 62 different places in one year.
This kind of lifestyle requires a certain level of open mindedness just as the capability of living and travelling with just the basics.
When I started looking into tiny house living a few years ago and started designing my own tiny house last year (it’s still a design, but when the time is right I will build it with my own hands), I realised how much I was looking forward to living in a small space.
And when I travelled around Victoria with a friend in his van last year, that feeling grew stronger and stronger.
So, when I bumped into a couple who own a big property with a fully equiped caravan on it where I could live for a little while, you can imagine how stoked I was.
It’s the perfect setting for me! 🙌
Living tiny in the middle of nature. I can not ask for more.
It reminds me of the camping trips with my family growing up and the pure joy of living outside most of the time.
And that’s exactly how I feel right now. I’m happy, I feel free, and I’m not missing out on anything.
All my stuff fits in a small car which means there’s plenty of space for all of it in the caravan. I even have a private bathroom which is outside in a seperate tiny building.
A fully functioning house in a great setting all to myself for a VERY reasonable price.
I can’t say this enough: it’s the perfect setup for me.
And there are kangaroos EVERYWHERE 🦘 🦘 🦘 🦘 🦘 🦘
Oh and the beach is just a 10-minute walk from the property!
I get around on my bicycle very easily and there’s a bus stop on the way to the beach.
So, living remote without a car is my reality now and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Check out this little video I made about the caravan lifestyle!
That’s all for this tiny blog about tiny joys!
Bye for now!
